Perfect match for Samsung i8910 Omnia HD

The world's first 720p HD video recording on a mobile phone was top of our list of trend-setting features revealed at this year's MWC in Barcelona. But even if you take HD from the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD you will still have enough skill and guts
to go around. It's Symbian-powered, Samsung i8910 Omnia HD touch - controlled, and i8910 monster of a camera phone. For all we know, a device like that is always worth another look.

Just slightly over a year back, Samsung made its definitive move into the smartphone segment with the unveiling of the Samsung Omnia. Call it what you may, the iPhone killer, the cute Windows Mobile device, the Omnia was the Korean conglomerate's golden goose in terms of popularity amongst consumers. Samsung i8910 upcoming successor, the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD, will definitely be worthy of the Omnia name - at least that's the impression we've had since the unit came into our labs yesterday.

Email, SMS, MMS, instant messaging, voice mail, voice memo, mobile printing, document viewer, PC Sync, TV Output, and bluetooth among other things make the phone a complete smartphone.

Taking a cue from the recent imaging powerhouses such as the Samsung PIXON and its INNOV8 series, the Omnia HD also sport a similar 8-megapixel imaging sensor. What's no longer similar, is the device's ability to record videos at resolutions up to 1280
x 720, or as normally referred to as HD recording in the 720p range. Watch videos recorded on HD TVs with DLNA and HD TV out. Dual Stereo Speaker with Samsung's Digital Natural Sound Engine technology for higher-quality sound and more natural effects with realistic stereo and deep bass sounds.

Samsung Omnia II Offers Impressive Features But Lacks Speed

Samsung wowed the cell phone industry with its Omnia a few years back and followed it up successfully with the Omnia HD. The latest offering in the series named Omnia II looks impressive but it lacks the speed of some of its rival models. The USP of
the Omnia II is its awesome large AMOLED display that is a class ahead of the conventional LCD displays. Samsung uses its TouchWiz 3D Interface that runs on top of the Windows mobile OS. While it looks great it does take a toll on the speed of the phone. This becomes particularly evident when the user tries to multitask. The OMNIA II weights a little more than the first generation Omnia. Its brushed metal finish and rounded corners gives it an aesthetic appeal.

The WVGA AMOLED screen of the Omnia II is surrounded by a black lustrous border. It has only 3 hardware buttons. The audiophiles will appreciate the inclusion of a 3.5 mm headset jack, something the first version of the phone lacked. Its 8GB of
inbuilt memory is enough for storing media content. Apart from that the users can put in a microSD card with a capacity of 16 GB.

Since the Omnia II does not come with a Physical keyboard the users will have to use its on screen virtual keyboard. In portrait mode, the keyboard may seem a bit cramped particularly for the users with large fingers. However, it is okay in
landscape mode. The screen of the Omnia II offers haptic feedback but for some unknown reason Samsung has disabled the support for the on screen keyboard. However, once you get comfortable with the swipe technology used in this model, you will be able to type text faster. To make things easier for novice users, Samsung has bundled Video guide for using Swype with this model.

The Omnia II offers you the choice of having two web browsers, Opera Mobile 9.7 and IE mobile. Opera seems to be a little faster than IE and IE Mobile still needs to improve a lot before it can come close to Safari. The phone offers a lot of options
for music playback. You can either choose Windows Media player or opt for the visually appealing TouchWiz player. It also offers FM radio so that when the users get bored with the existing music collection they can try something different. As
expected, video playback looks great on the AMOLED screen of Omnia II and its wide viewing support makes watching video in outdoors a grand experience.

In the imaging department, the Omnia II does not disappoint. The inbuilt 5 MP camera comes with a flash and it takes decent quality images. The images look sharp and vivid and even in dim light conditions the camera captures the details quite well. If
you are looking for a top notch Windows mobile driven smart phone the Omnia II is a good choice. However, do not expect it to perform tasks at lightning speed. It does make up for the sluggish performance by offering loads of features.

Sony Ericsson W715 for Music Lover

The Sony Ericsson W715 is the latest Walkman handset to arrive with A-GPS satellite location technology embedded. Its look, build and features may look strikingly similar to the ably-equipped, W705, but the Sony Ericsson W715 has one distinct advantage over its range-mate: location, or, to be exact, location finding.

The Sony Ericsson W705, announced last year, packs an award winning audio experience into a classy slide form factor. Comprising a smooth brushed metal finish on the front and matt black plastic on the back, the W705 certainly excels in the
looks department. And as a member of the Walkman family, the W705 takes music seriously too. Alongside the latest Walkman Player 3.0, the W705 supports a host of different audio file formats including MP3 and AAC. The new W705 also features
premium Sony Ericsson music features such as TrackID, Shake control and SensMe playlist. Expandable memory gives plenty of storage space and stereo FM radio boosts your listening opt elegance to its Walkman sliderphone line-up, reworking the angular brushed aluminium gorgeousness of the candybar W880i and W890i into a slimline slide-down format.

Sony Ericsson's regular package of Google Maps mapping, search and route finding software is present again, but Find & Go provides another online-based mapping and route-finding option. This offers a broadly similar set of search and route-finding
options to Google Maps in its basic service, but users can upgrade to the complete Find & Go service that delivers full Sat Nav functionality, including voice guided turn-by-turn instructions for driving or walking, and 3D map views onscreen.

It's not all about looks though - the W715 has the latest high-grade Walkman music player software onboard, with a 4GB memory card in-box, and packs Wi-Fi and high-speed HSPA 3G mobile download and upload capability. Along with video calling
from a front-facing camera above the display and other multimedia stuff, there's a 3.2-megapixel camera included too.

In the UK, the W715 is available solely as an exclusive on Vodafone deals, which could be an issue for some potential buyers who like the W705 but prefer having GPS as well. We thought the W705 was a decent enough mid-range Walkman phone, but the addition of A-GPS satellite location finding makes the W715 an even more attractive proposition. If camerawork is your priority, this won't be for you, but its Walkman music phone credentials are certainly up to the high standards we've come to expect.

A classy design and ample set of mid-range functions, along with its Wi-Fi and HSPA connectivity give this plenty of pocket punch for a non-smartphone handset.

Fashionable Mobile Samsung B2100 Red

The Samsung B2100 Red is the best equipped yet to handle extreme conditions, with a waterproof casing and military-grade imperviousness to the elements. So it can survive at least half an hour's full submersion in 1metre of water, as well as being
dust-resistant. In addition, the phone has been toughened up to comply with the US military MIL-STD-810F standard which means it can withstand blowing rain, salt, fog, humidity, solar radiation, shock, vibration and extreme temperatures.

While Samsung B2100 Red's built to withstand a bit of rough stuff, The Samsung B2100 Red is not the most feature-laden of handsets. Unlike the Samsung Bound, it lacks 3G, relying on quad-band GSM and GPRS and EDGE data connectivity, thus limiting its multimedia muscle. It has a camera, but it is a mere 1.3-megapixel entry-level snapper. The Samsung B2100 Red manages to maintain reasonable bodyweight 102.8g. The latter offsetting the austere look.

The rubber-feel casing gives the phone good handling characteristics for using in the wet or cold weather. It fits nicely in the hand and is well weighted too. Waterproofing requirements demand a lockable back panel, which can be opened or closed by turning a screw, using a coin or similar object.

This maintains the integrity of the waterproofing but doesn't do a lot for the texting action. It's a bit spongy for fast message tapping, though the numbers are large enough and adequately defined to avoid mispressing. Speedy texters may not enjoy it, though it's chunky enough for cold or wet fingers to press. It'll probably pass muster for texting with light gloves on too, though it was too awkward for our thicker ski gloves to negotiate. Having submerged it in water for 30 minutes, You can
confirm that it came out alive and in full working order.

The Samsung B2100 Red is consistent with the sort of menu systems we have seen on many other low- and mid-range Samsungs, it worked for a lower resolution presentation on the screen. It has an initial start-up wizard, which from first switch-on confirms configuration settings as well as the date and time.

Affordable simplicity describes the Samsung E2120 perfectly

The Samsung E2120 is a typically stylish Samsung handset, released in September 2009 for the replacement and second handset market. Simple in design as well as functionality, its limited features justify its affordability. Compact and lightweight would describe the handset. It weighs 74 g in weight and measures 105 mm x 45 mm wide whilst being 15 mm thick.

In amongst its functionality the Samsung E2120 provides an MP3/MP4 player for entertainment purposes as well as a stereo FM radio, which has a built in antenna. This ensures musical and video entertainment can be enjoyed on this handset, as it will play the majority of audio and video file types as well as provide an array of regional and national radio stations as an alternative to downloaded music and video files.

A 1.52 inch CSTN display screen is provided with this handset and displays up to 65,000 colours at a pixel screen size of 128 by 128 pixels. Alert types provided include ring and vibration options as well as the ability to download polyphonic and MP3 ringtones, as a further enhancement and means of individualising the handset. The handset also comes with a speakerphone as standard. Internal memory within the handset is 9 MB, with the option of upgrading utilising the microSD card slot.

A VGA style camera is provided with this handset which operates at 640 x 480 pixels. Images taken with this camera are suitably good enough to display on the display screen with a good resolution. As an alternative to still imagery, the camera
provides video recording and playback capabilities.

The handset comes with GPRS, blue tooth and USB. This provides the means to share files seamlessly with suitably attired devices as well as downloading and synchronising to and from a PC. The handset comes with a variety of games included within the package as well as the ability to download further games if desired

The Samsung E2120, like the Samsung E1080, is a simple handset which is aimed at a
specific market. This is either the user who requires simple functionality or as a replacement handset. Although limited in its functionality, it is still a fully featured handset which provides sufficient features to make it a viable option for
those looking for a second handset or replacement.

Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica, Bringing DivX to Android

South Korea-based Samsung has officially unveiled the Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica that had the speculative rumor mills on the internet buzzing as the Galaxy Lite before its release.

Samsung is right to take out the "Lite" branding as the i5700 does have improved specifications over the earlier Galaxy i7500 smartphone. This is Samsung's second Android handset targeted specially to European markets (the 4th worldwide). After what
seems like a sustained market demand, users can now watch DivX movies on the handset, making it the first Android to run DivX.

Samsung has earlier brought DivX to its flagship Omnia HD (8900), Ultra Touch (S8300) and BEAT DJ (M7600) in recognition of its excellent high quality lossy compression codec that now figure prominently in ripping High Definition disks and stored in MKV files for both home and mobile viewing. Not all mobile phones carry the feature as it still require DivX certification and licensing for any device to get it playing the codec. Android phone users, however, can still get DivX from third
party apps like the vxflash player from MobileSoft.

A Word about DivX

DivX is a brand of codec technology that makes a competent balance of high quality MPEG4/Part2 compression algorithm with files sizes that are small enough for archiving across consumer media appliances like for the home and on the road. There are now over 100 million DivX-certified gadgets from leading consumer electronics brands that is making a dent in spreading a high quality high definition video experience across major platforms.

It requires certification and licensing to get your device to run DivX but it also figures as one of many codecs commonly used for ripping discs into hard drives for transcoding in smaller files.

Features at a Glance

Apart from being able to run DivX video, its media players can play just about all the popular media files you throw at it. Headphone listening can come either from a 3.5mm headphone jack or wirelessly from its Bluetooth A2DP support.

The new I5700 Spica is a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE on 2G and dual band 3G/HSDPA housed in a touchscreen monoblock body measuring 115 x 57 x 13.2mm weighing 124 g. There's WiFi 802/11 b/g for hotspot surfing and Bluetooth 2.1 for high speed wireless data
synchronization. It gets a powerful engine with a proprietary Samsung 800MHz CPU, making the i5700 Spica one of the fasted smartphone on in Android territory. Memory is a modest 180 MB which can be expanded up to 32 GB on its microSD slot.

It has a 3.2" TFT capacitive touchscreen supporting 16 million colors on a 320 x 480 pixel resolution. Like most other touchscreens, it has a gravity accelerometer to auto-rotate viewing orientation based on the tilt of the handset. Imaging function is supported by a 3.15 megapixel autofocus camera with geo-tagging from its assisted GPS receiver. It does not have any secondary camera despites its 3G video calling capability.

Like its heftier i7500 brother, the new handset runs on the Android v1.5 Cupcake which is a tad down from the current v2.0 Éclair Android that runs on the Motorola Droid/Milestone. It has a Java-based digital compass, Google Search, Google Maps and
tight integration with YouTube and Google talk. From its generous 1500 mAh li-Ion battery, the Samsung i5700 Galaxy Spica gets up to 11.5 hours of talk time and 27 days of standby time on a single charge - one of the best among touchscreen mobiles.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Mobile Phone Review - The Trendsetter of Nokia Touch Screens

Behind all of their market competitors they may be but Nokia have now introduced their very first touch screen phone. It has been a long time in coming but by all accounts it has been worth waiting for. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is the model that they have decided to launch first and sales suggest that it has been a huge success.
With millions of handsets already having been sold, it is worth questioning whether the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has indeed been worth the hype and thus whether Nokia have made it worth our wait. The rest of this review will do just that for you.

Touching The Void?

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic handset seems to have it all, from good looks to a packed features list. It does look like the generic model for all touch screen phones, the iPhone, but it is incredibly simple in both design and functionality, which is not
necessarily something that can be said for its predecessors. It is rather compact for a touch screen phone with a 3.2 inch display at 111mm in length. However, the screen is simply amazing. It is plastic so there is a lot of give in it but you may not notice that when looking at the jaw dropping 640x360 pixels. The quality of the images is incredible.

It is fair to say that the design is simple but attractive. However, it is really what is under the surface that counts. The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic also gives you a lot of usability options. For example, you have the choice of 4 input methods,
including QWERTY and alphanumeric options. The idea is that you can select the way that suits you best so that you are at home using the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic right from the start.

A Multimedia Heaven

The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is obviously designed to present its multimedia capabilities as its best feature, and that is obviously where the concentration has been placed. The speakers are simply fantastic and are amongst the best available in a mobile at the moment. This enhanced sound suits the dedicated music player and enables all of your files to sound that much better whenever you want to listen to them.

However, there are also several other features of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic that are worth a mention. For example, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is considered a mid to high end device and yet it has all of the features of a high end one. There is Wi-Fi,
GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 and an excellent web browser. There is also a 3.2MP camera that takes good images and has high functionality. For example, there is a responsive zoom functionality in addition to the dual LED flash that provides enough light in
darker conditions. However, there is one little niggle with the camera and that is that some shots can come out a little grainy.

There really is only one other niggle, which is not bad considering this is a first attempt at a touch screen phone. The default software has not really been perfected yet and so is not optimized for the most efficient use of the phone. However, this
can be ironed out in future models so the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a good choice if you know what you want from a phone and are prepared to deal with a little inconsistency once in a while. With high usability and good functionality, this handset can deliver on all of your expectations right from the start.

Smart Buying Tips For Smartphone

Have you been thinking of purchasing a Smartphone? This may be the perfect time as the market increasingly improves existing choices due to competition. Many are also available for free or cheaper than ever before.

The only problem with the above is that there are so many choices, especially if this is the buyer's very first Smartphone. Following will be some tips on how to make this process more organized.

Listing: The first decision to consider is the features desired in a Smartphone. There are some that are geared to helping someone organize their daily life and tasks, others that place more importance on a large screen and its graphics quality, and some that offer lightning fast internet browsing. Some place significance on a high quality camera. There are also many Smartphones that include all of these options and more! Making a list will be easier after the desired features are determined.

Research: Visiting different provider's stores and holding, touching, and even using the Smartphone that is being researched is still the best way to determine which one will win the contest. Talking to the salespeople can be very helpful as well. Many of them have their own Smartphones, and they probably have been through several different kinds and brands, as they get to test them out before the public does. Most of them will be quite willing to give an honest review and opinion of the ones that they like best and how they work. Finding the best deals can often be done easier in store as well.

Offer Searching: Checking different provider and manufacturer's sites can result in finding some really great deals. Sometimes coupons are available to bring into the store to combine with a sale. There are also many sites that cater to new Smartphone
buyers; these sites offer incredible deals on phones for signing a new contract, and these deals are usually much cheaper than the ones direct from the provider. Holidays usually prompt carriers to begin exclusive sales and discounts as well.

Warranty Details: The Smartphone should offer excellent warranty coverage. Are there stipulations in the buyer's remorse period? Are there extra accessories that come with the phone, and are these covered too? Most phones are made overseas, so the
reassurance of a warranty is a must. Without this protection, a buyer can get stuck with a malfunctioning Smartphone shortly after purchase. This is money and time wasted.

Research Carrier Plans: There are numerous plan options available with all of the major carriers. Some offer family plans, business plans, and individual plans. There are also data plan and unlimited messaging options available for heavy users.
There is absolutely no reason to settle for a bad plan with expensive costs. This is not an issue in today's modern Smartphone world.

By following the suggestions and tips offered here, a new Smartphone buyer can save time, hassle, and money. These things can also be used by a seasoned Smartphone user as well. Maybe it is time to move up to the latest model, or maybe an interest has
been taken in a whole other direction with a completely different manufacturer. There are awesome deals currently in the cellular world, and these just keep getting better. This is largely due to the fact that many providers are offering cheaper
and better deals on plans and phones alike. Thus, their competitors must rush to offer something better.

Take advantage of these reasons; using these and the given tips will get the buyer an awesome Smartphone or the seasoned Smartphone user a new and better upgrade.

How do I choose a good mobile phone

Here are some ways in which I can choose a good mobile phone. There are so many things advertised about a mobile phone these days, that we forget the basic functionality of a phone: calling feature. So make sure, you make an informed decision about the mobile phone that you are buying.

First, check for a clear voice quality. This is the basic functionality of the phone, which a lot of people overlook. The phone is of no use if you cannot hear the voice of a caller when you are driving down the highway. Secondly go for a phone that
has simple interface for navigation. If you have to do three menu selections just to type an SMS, it means the phone is of no good use.

Another critical thing to check is the battery life. Go for a battery that can last for a few days. Do not pay much attention to the "standby" battery life but look for one that gives good battery life during your normal day to day use. Nowadays Bluetooth is fast becoming a necessity than a luxury. Go for a phone that can connect instantly to any Bluetooth enabled phone and helps you transfer data, messages, images, videos etc for free

How To Make Sure You Get The Right Samsung Batteries?

Do you need replacement Samsung batteries? Don't buy a new Samsung battery, until you read this article. It will give you the information on how to make sure you find the right Samsung batteries for your phoneas well as be able to make some big savings.

There are many different models of Samsung mobile phone, so there you stand with a need for replacement Samsung batteries. So what are you to do? The first key is to be able to identify what is the right Samsung battery for your phone, as well as find sources that sell replacement Samsung batteries.

Let us take each of these steps one by one, then we will look at how to save money when it comes to replacement Samsung batteries, as well as what you need to be aware of, so that you don't get a scam when buying replacement batteries for your Samsung cell phone.

The first step in discovering what is the right replacement battery for your Samsung cell phone, is to take the battery out, and take a look at the label. The Samsung battery will have a label and a few characteristics which are essential to get the
right battery.

On the battery there will be a model number, and this is essential to get a replacement Samsung battery for your cell phone. However, there is also a need to look at other factors. For example, you will want to also know your mobile phone model, as this is essential.

Knowing the model is just as important as the label on the battery for a few reasons. The first and biggest is that a lot of the time, you will find the replacement battery with the aid of knowing the model. Second, the battery model may change, there may be upgrades, etc, and the battery model is old. So knowing both can be beneficial.

The next point to consider is where to buy Samsung batteries for your cell phone. Phone shops are one option, however, they are not the best solution. Often these places don't have a large range of batteries. So you end up wasting time. They may be able to order it for you but, this could take time, and cost a lot more money than you would have had to pay.

Phoning local phone shops is an option, and can be easily done at home. Another option, which I like, is to go online. There are a number of phone stores online, and they often carry a larger range of choice. One idea is to research through these
online stores, as often they have better prices.

One thing to be aware of, is the replica's and originals. There is a lot of replica Samsung batteries online, and though they are cheaper, they are not originals, so this is a point to remember.

Holiday Gifts: HTC Screen Protector

One of the most popular gifts this season for fans of the HTC phone is a screen protector package. The clear, invisible sleek overlay protects the screen of these phones from all kinds of accidental damage like scuffs, scrapes and other mishaps. What is really nice about the films is that they are very easy to attach to the phone without being all wrinkly or bubbly. In fact, many people are able to just slip it on so easily that they really cannot ever even see it and they forget that it is there. Users can still see absolutely everything without worrying about smudging or scratching the components of the phone and you can still use all of the features and controls too. Some of the most popular products are compatible with the Touch Pro 2, the Diamond, Fuze, Imagio, Pure, the Diamond 2 and other similar devices too.

Using these HTC screen protectors is essential to sustaining the life of your phone, and it seems for many people that no matter how careful they may be, accidents do happen and it is critical to keep your phone as protected as possible from unsightly
scratches that not only look bad but can also get in the way of being able to operate the phone sufficiently. The best films are those that protect devices simply and effectively while being virtually indestructible and strong. This all ensures that the phone stays as beautiful and as pristine as the day you first purchased it.

It is important to get a high quality HTC screen protector that is cut with accurate precision so that it doesn t hang over the edges. When this happens it will look terrible and the piece of film will not last very long at all. One of the most popular film is the invisibleSHIELD, which actually had its origins in the military. The material was used to protect high speed helicopter blades from dust and dirt. The same material is available as a high quality HTC screen protector. These products
are very, very thin so that the user forgets that it is there. Even though it is incredibly thin, it is super strong. These are strong enough in fact that they are backed by a lifetime guarantee. These HTC screen protectors also come off clean and
they do not leave any sticky residue on the phone. They can be changed frequently with no problems at all.
