The O2 XDA Guide is the latest rendition from O2. The phone is an eclectic mix of renowned functions and innovative styling. With a plethora of functions its aim is simple, to provide a competent and reliable phone which proves useful in any number
of situations. It achieves this aim with distinction. The handset measures 102 mm x 53 mm whilst being only 14 mm thick. It weighs 102 grams which is a comfortable weight when using the features and holding in the palm of a hand.
The phones 2.8 inch TFT resistive touch screen displays 65,000 colours with a pixel size of 240 x 320 pixels. The screen is expressive in every way and has a clarity of image that is excellent. The impressive TouchFLO finger swipe navigation is
complemented by the addition of a 5 way navigation button. This, in essence means that navigation around the varied features is simple and user friendly. For additional data entry benefits, the inclusion of handwriting recognition is offered.
The O2 XDA Guide provides a 3.15 Mega pixel camera which operates at 2048 x 1536 pixels. Geo tagging is included within the package and ensures that images can be tagged by location, which has become a popular and oft requested feature. Video
recording and playback are offered which means that this alternative media style is available should the situation suit this option. Internet access is always a popular feature and is provided by the HSDPA and Wi-Fi connections, which makes use of, via its Wi-Fi capabilities, freely available hot spots. GPRS, EDGE, Blue tooth and miniUSB connections are also included and offer a variety of connection options. For those who requiresatellite navigation, the phone provides GPS with A-GPS support
and TomTom NAVIGATOR 7 software.
The XDA Guide is an excellent example of a mobile phone and uses some of the latest technology to enhance its offering. The use of a Qualcomm MSM 7225 528 MHz processor and Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system is testimony enough to the virtues of this phone. With undoubted quality of finish, this phone offers something for everyone.
